Forbes has released its ranking of China's top 100 outstanding businesswomen in June 2014. This is the first time that Forbes has released such a ranking.According to the magazine, the criteria of the ranking were based on the companies' scale, management, influence and numbers of employees.

 

No 1 Sun Yafang

Chairwoman of Huawei Technologies Co Ltd

As technology giant Huawei's chairwoman, Sun Yafang is often refered as “Huawei queen”. Huawei's revenue in 2013 rose to 100 billion yuan, a 34.4 percent growth year on year. At present, Huawei has 16 R&D centers in resource-rich locations, 28 joint-innovation centers and more than 40 professional competency centers around the world. Sun's management skills, cross-cultural communications and coordination skills have made her the front runner of most outstanding Chinese businesswomen.

Dong Mingzhu has been working at Gree for more than 20 years and has made the company the biggest air-conditioner retail firm in the world.The company reported a 19.9 percent year-on-year increase in sales to more than $19.58 billion in 2013. Dong's next goal is for the company to increase at least 20 billion yuan ($3.26 billion) in sales by 2014.

Starting from a soldier to a successful businesswoman, Song Guangju led Poly Real Estate Group out of Guangzhou and extended its business all over China. The company's revenue hit 92.4 billion yuan in 2013, a 34.03 percent growth year on year.

Wu kept Longfor on an upward trajectory in 2013. Her Beijing real estate firm saw contracted sales surge of 20 percent to $7.9 billion for the year.

Sun Yiping was appointed president of Mengniu dairy in 2013 and set a role as a reformer. She led the team with her new and creative concept and secured the top seat in the market for the dairy giant.

 

Top 6 Yang Huiyan

Share holder and executive director of Country Garden Holdings

Yang Huiyan has become China's richest woman of 2013 with a fortune of 51 billion yuan ($8.33 billion), according to Hurun China's Women Rich List 2013. Yang is the majority shareholder of real estate developer Country Garden Holdings. Country Garden reported contract sales of 51.9 billion yuan in the first eight months of 2013, achieving 84 percent of its target for the year.

Wang Fengying started working for Great Wall Motor in 1991 as a salesperson and this year marks her 11th year being president in the company. Being the only female president of China's auto industry, she has made the company fastest-growing auto brand in China. Wang's long-term goal is to make cars that have better quality than German cars.
