Shenzhen general background
Shenzhen, which can be also called as Pengchen city, Shumchun, Shamchun and SZ, is one of the four first-tired cities in China, and the other three cities are Guangzhou, Beijing and Shanghai. Shenzhen has a total area of 1996.85 square kilometers and has a population of over 10,000 thousands. GDP of the city in the year 2014 is about 1,600,000 million RMB. Culture
Mandarin is the most common local language in Shenzhen and Cantonese is the second popular one in this city. By the end of the year 2014, Shenzhen has sets up a well-connected underground network, and the city is the fifth one that has underground network in China (the other four are in Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai and Guangzhou). The city has five main underground routes with a capacity flow of over daily 1,800,000 persons. By the end of the year 2010, Shenzhen has 756 bus routes with a capacity flow of annual 2,400 millions persons.
Scientific research, healthcare and housing
Shenzhen is one of the top 10 most competitive scientific research Chinese cities according to 《Nature》. In the year 2011, the city has a total number of 11826 patent of inventions at domestic level, which is the No. 2 in all Chinese cities. Shenzhen has an over 1187,000 million RMB annual output value of high advanced productions. By the end of the year 2012, Shenzhen has a total number of 2008 healthcare institutions. For the housing aspect, the city has a wide range of housing agencies for first-hand, second-hand and flats renting. For example, Nanshan district attracts lost of foreign investors to settle down because of its breathtaking sea views.
