Over 500 corporations and eight batches of exhibition groups are attending the expo, which highlights the commercialization of technological achievements in the energy-saving industry by offering on-site business matching between corporations and attendees.
"We provide matching services for corporations with potential clients such as hospitals and hotels that demand energy-saving operation," said Dai Zeming, the president of the Shenzhen Society for Sustainable Development, the co-organizer of the expo.
The expo also emphasized green residential estates this year, as a forum was held yesterday by Shenzhen's housing and construction bureau, with experts and property management companies discussing energy-saving approaches in estate management.
Zhen Xin, the program manager of Shenzhen Lisai Development Co. Ltd., said the company has partnered with Shenzhen's urban management bureau and converted gas from the Xiaping landfill in Luohu into natural gas, which will power 200,000 Shenzhen homes next year.
"Our conversion rate into natural gas is up to 90 percent, which is the highest nationwide," Zhen said.An intelligent street lamp also attracted many visitors' attention at the expo. It can recharge electric cars, broadcast a Wi-Fi signal and measure air quality."These street lamps have been put on a trial run on several streets in Futian District since June," said Wu Jiayi, a staff member from China Unicom.
