China calls for responsible currency policy from EU

ATAHK reads from Xinhua News that China hopes the European Union (EU) will make responsible and correct currency policies to promote the sustainable growth of the world, a Foreign Ministry spokesman said on Friday. For details, please refer to the following news from Xinhua News on September 5th:

Spokesman Qin Gang made the comment a day after the European Central Bank (ECB) decided to cut all the interest rates by 10 basis points and start buying non-financial private sector assets amid growing concerns about the Eurozone stagnation.

"As a major economy, EU shoulders important responsibilities in promoting global economic recovery and growth," Qin said.

"When EU suffered from the sovereign debt crisis, other countries lent it a hand. The spirit of helping each other to overcome difficulties should be continued," the spokesman added.
