ATAHK learns the following China Economic and Trade Information from HKTDC:
• China’s GDP grew by 6.9% in 2015.
• The added-value industrial output grew by 5.4% in Jan-Feb 2016.
• Fixed assets investment grew by 10.2% in Jan-Feb 2016.
• Retail sales increased by 10.2% (9.6% in real terms) in Jan-Feb 2016.
• Inflation went up to 2.3% in February 2016 from 1.8% in January 2016.
• In February 2016, exports (in terms of US$) dropped 25.4%, while imports (in terms of US$) declined by 13.8%, resulting in a trade surplus of US$32.5 billion.
• The Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index declined to 49 in February 2016 from 49.4 in January 2016.
