Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen are the top three best cities on the Chinese mainland for businesses setup according to the investigation on three main aspects assessed. of  entrepreneurship atmosphere, policy environment, and intellectual support

Based on statistics provided by the Tencent Research Institute, the report outlined five start-up centers across the Chinese mainland: the Northern China center with Beijing and Tianjin playing the leading role, the Eastern China center with Shanghai, Hangzhou, Suzhou and Nanjing as prominent players, the Southern China center where Shenzhen and Guangzhou are most competitive, the Central China center with Wuhan as the core, and the Western China center where Chengdu and Xi'an offer the most start-up appeal.

Over half of the online innovation and entrepreneurship were registered in first-tier cities where human resources are abundant and the market more mature.
