A. Resident Registration
1. If you stay in China, it is necessary to register your presence with the police station near your place of residence within 24 hours after arrival.
2. If you check-in to a hotel, the hotel should register your information and submit it to the police station.
Punishment in case you fail to do so
1. If you fail to register in accordance with the regulations, you shall be given a warning and shall be fined no more than two thousand yuan.
2. If the hotel fails to submit the registration information for foreigners to the police station, it will be given a warning. If the circumstances are serious, the hotel will be fined at least 1,000 yuan.
B. Illegal Entry
Foreigners who enter China must submit their passports and/or other international travel documents, such as visas or other entry permits, to the border entry and exit inspection authorities, and perform any additional required procedures. Only after inspection will you be granted entry.
Punishment in case you fail to do so
Foreigners who enter the country illegally will be fined at least 1,000 yuan. If the circumstances are serious, you will be detained for at least five days, and fined over 2,000 yuan.
C. Illegal Residence
1. Foreigners who plan to live in China for a long duration must apply for Residence Permit for Foreigners at the police station within 30 days from the date of entry.
2. Foreigners who need to stay or live in China after the expiration of their visa or residence permit should apply for an extension 30 days before the expiration.
Punishment in case you fail to do so
1. If a foreigner illegally resides in China, he will be given a warning, and if the circumstances are serious, the penalty for each day of illegal residence shall be 500 yuan, or he shall be detained for at least five days.
2. If the guardian fails to fulfill the guardianship obligation and causes the foreigner under the age of 16 to illegally reside, the guardian will be given a warning and will be fined no more than 1,000 yuan.
D.Illegal Employment
Foreigners working in China must obtain work permits or work-type residence permits. Companies are not allowed to employ foreigners who have not obtained the right permit.
Punishment for your failure to do so
1. If a foreigner is illegally employed, he shall be fined at least 5,000 yuan, and if the circumstances are serious, he shall be detained for at least five days.
2. People who introduce illegal employment for foreigners will be charged a fine of 5,000 yuan per person.
3. If a company illegally employs foreigners, it will be fined 10,000 yuan per person.
4. If a foreigner has illegal income, the illegal income will be confiscated.
