Dongguan IT Industry 
The IT industry is Dongguan's engine for development.  The industry covers all 32 towns; with 15 national-level IT bases and 2 provincial industrial clusters upgrade model areas in Shilong and Shijie.There are a total of 275 IT companies in the area, completing more than 100 scientific research and technology research projects in the past 5 years. 

Dongguan Textiles and Apparel industry 
In 2012, Dongguan’s textile and garment industry created a total industrial output of 83 billion RMB, 9.3 percent of the Dongguan’s total output, and an industrial added value of 22.9 billion RMB.The China (Humen) International Clothing Trade Fair has been held for 15 years, and is representative of southern China’s clothing production. It is considered as one of the most influential clothing trade fairs in China.

Dongguan Knitwear industry 
Knitwear in Dongguan is mostly located in and around Dalang, where there are nearly 10,000 knitting and textile companies. Dalang is known for its sweaters and was certified among the first group of provincial industrial cluster upgrade demonstration areas and one of the three Guangdong pilot units to create a local international brand.Dalang products are mostly sold overseas, which 60 percent of the output is exported to more than 80 countries including Italy and the United States. 

Dongguan Furniture Industry
Dongguan has more than 1,500 furniture manufacturers, mostly located in Dalingshan and Houjie. Dalingshan is mainly focused on export, while Houjie products are sold domestically.Dalingshan is known as the “No. 1 furniture export town” and the “largest furniture production base in the Asia Pacific region” and was among the second group of provincial industrial cluster upgrade demonstration areas. The Dongguan International Furniture Exhibit has been held successfully 25 times and is the largest of its kind in Asia.

Dongguan Metal Molds Industry 
Dongguan is one of the four largest mold bases in Guangdong and mainly produces plastic molds, supplemented by stamping dies. Metal mold industry can be found in Chang’an, Humen, Changping, Hengli, Fenggang, Tangsha, Shijie, Guancheng; which Chang’an and Hengli are the leading producers.Chang’an was awarded the “Famous Chinese Mold Town” and was in the second group of provincial industrial cluster upgrade demonstration area.

Dongguan Toys Industry 
In 2010, Dongguan’s toy industry created 8.3 billion RMB of industrial output, taking up 7 percent of the city’s total output. Currently, Dongguan has more than 3,000 toy manufacturers, mainly located in Dongcheng, Humen, Liaobu, Houjie, Chashan, Chang’an, Shipai, Qingxi, Tangsha, Fenggang and Changping.

Dongguan Food and Drink Industry 
Dongguan has a comprehensive food and beverage manufacturing industry, producing different items including beverages, baked products, candies, condiments, food additives, frozen food and grain and oil processing. These include beverages like Coca-Cola, Nestle, Sunray Cave; alcoholic beverages like ‘Snow beer’, King way, Pearl River; snack food such as Garden biscuits, Hsu Fu Chi candies and Nissin instant noodles, etc.
