1. Global Trade Item Number (GTIN): unique way to identify products/services/locations in the trading cycle to facilitate business efficiency.
2. Global Location Number (GLN) - unique identification for any legal, functional or physical location within an organization. It can be used throughout the supply chain to track and trace the location of goods.

5. The HK e-ID Registry is an e-commerce infrastructure that facilitates SCM application development. It uses global and open standards which can be connected to other supply chain management applications such as Point-of-Sale, category management, warehouse management, e-procurement, enterprise resources planning (ERP) etc.
6. It provides a means for suppliers or distributors to register their products online with automatic assignment of GTIN and reduces the risk of duplicating the same GTIN.
7. It provides a single point of entry for GTIN and its associated information, which serves as a gateway linking up local and international industry-specific Electronic Product Catalogues and their associated business applications.
8. It facilitates product and company searching and retrieval and alignment of product information.
9. It facilitates the integration of supply chain processes such as procurement, sales, inventory, production and logistics to allow the accurate and efficient flow of information between trading partners in the global market place.
