Located in the center of Zhejiang Province, Yiwu has convenient transportation to Shanghai, Hangzhou and the other cities of Zhejiang Province. Currently, it is possible for visitors to get there by its almost completed traffic network.
Getting There
By Air
Airport Code: YIW
Location: Yiwu Airport lies 5.5 kilometers (3.4 miles) northwest of the city and 51 kilometers (31.7 miles) from the urban area of Jinhua.
Brief Intro: As the largest airport in middle-western Zhejiang Province, Yiwu airport can handle large planes like the MD-82, B-737, and A-320. Its apron can hold 3 large planes and 2 small planes. The Domestic Waiting Hall accommodates 500 passengers.
The airport is now under expansion, and the project is predicted to be finished this year. A new Terminal Building with an area of 18,000 square meters (about 21,528 square yards), able to house 1,000 persons during the peak hour, will be constructed under this project. The apron will be enlarged to include parking for 6 planes. At present, there are about 10 domestic airlines operating here, connecting to Beijing and Guangzhou everyday, to Chengdu on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday as well as to Shenzhen, Xiamen, Changsha, Kunming and Shantou on every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

There is a regular shuttle bus connecting Yiwu and Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport (HGH). The shuttle buses from HGH depart hourly from 09:30 to 17:30 at the 5th door of the arrival hall while the ones from Yiwu to HGH also depart hourly from 07:00 to 18:00 at the 1st floor of the waiting room of Binwang Passenger Center. The fare either way is CNY60 per person.
Tickets, domestic and international, can be purchased at the airport and at the two ticket offices in the city center.

By Train
In June, 2006, the new Railway Station of Yiwu came into service. It is located at the Changjiangban Village of Houzhai Street, 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) away from the city center. With quality facilities, the New Railway Station plays an important role in the middle part of Zhejiang Province. At present, the trains that depart from Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Nanjing and some other large and medium-sized cities can get here directly everyday. At the same, there are frequent trains arriving from Hangzhou every day. In July, 2006, it also became the departure station for three trains respectively to Hangzhou, Shanghai and Taizhou.

Further, train tickets to Jinhua, Hangzhou, Shanghai and Nanjing also can be purchased at the New Railway Station and some agencies in the city. Following are the locations of some agencies:

By Long-distance Bus
There are ample convenient bus services to Yiwu. At present, there are four long-distance bus stations in the City. Following are some reference details:
Binwang Passenger Center: It is the largest station of the four. About nine provinces of China and most of the other parts of Zhejiang Province can be reached from here. Among them, there are six buses departing to Shanghai everyday, respectively at 08:20, 09:50, 11:50, 14:00, 15:00 and 16:30. Besides, if you are going to Hangzhou, the Binwang Passenger Center has opened a special route for you. Everyday, from 06:30 to 18:10, there will be buses departing to Hangzhou every 20 minutes. The return ones will depart from Hangzhou South Station every 20 minutes from 07:00 am to 18:40. And buses to Ningbo will depart hourly from 06:30 to 18:10.

Getting Around
By City-bus
Presently, there are more than 50 bus lines operating in Yiwu City, 28 of which are running in the city center while the others are running between the urban area and the surrounding towns. To be distinguished, the latter buses' numbers usually begin with 3. No.121, 122 and 123 of the urban buses are special lines running around the city's International Trade City. Further, No.209 (05:35-22:15), No.206 (05:50-22:05), No.202 (05:50-22:20) and No.201 (06:00 pm-22:10) run in the urban area at night.
By Taxi
With some 2000 taxis at your service, your trip will be easier in Yiwu. The fare is CNY5 for the first 2 kilometers (about 1.24 miles) and CNY 1.8 for every additional kilometer (about 0.62 mile). The fare of those with the logos of Honda Accord and Hongqi is a little higher.
Apart from the city's airport which has opened several domestic lines, Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport is frequently used by visitors from home and abroad. From there visitors can conveniently get to Yiwu by either train or bus. Located along the Zhejiang-Jiangxi Railway, the city has also become a new and important transfer station with its developing commodity economy. In 2006, a new railway station was put into use here, greatly improving the transportation efficiency with the opening of more lines. Linking some other mid-sized cities of China, Yiwu has built a developed highway system. At present, there are three bus stations in the city, operating a number of long-distance buses to some other provinces and almost every city of Zhejiang Province. It is no wonder that the best way to travel around the city is by bus.
The inner transportation of Yiwu City is mainly dependant on city-buses and taxis. The city is almost completely covered by these buses, some of which are running day and night. Considering its prosperous commodity trade, several direct lines to the markets have been opened. On the other hand, the urban area and the other towns and counties around the city proper are also linked by these city-buses. Therefore, there is no need for you to worry about your tour transportation there.
