Following the requirement of Deepening the Implementation of Using Trademark to Enrich Farmers, and Strengthening Agro-product GI and Trademark Protection by the State Council, SAIC on December 15, 2015, in Shandong Linyi, held a meeting to share experiences on the work for GI and Agro-product Trademark. More than 40 delegates from the Trademark Office of SAIC, the Protection and Coordination Department of SIPO, the Center for Agri-food Quality and Safety under Ministry of Agriculture, some provincial level Industry, commerce and market supervision departments, the Linyi and its inner districts and counties’ governments, joined the meeting.
Lv Zhihua, deputy director general of Trademark Office, Cai Fu’an, deputy director general of Shandong AIC, Li Zhaohui, vice-mayor of Linyi city, respectively addressed there. Delegates from the Trademark Office and the Center for Agri-food Quality and Safety reported relevant situations in 2015 and the following plans of using trademarks to enrich farmers within each department. Delegate from the Protection and Coordination Department reviewed the history and progress of promoting the implementation of IP strategy. Delegates from Shandong AIC, Fujian AIC and Zhejiang AIC introduced each work on GI and Agro-product trademarks. The agriculture department, industrial and commercial department from Linyi and the registrant of “PING YI JIN YIN HUA” also exchanged experiences and difficulties in using trademark to enrich farmers. Leaders from elevant departments including the Industry and commerce supervision department, the agriculture department, the science and technology department from Linyi City Government and the industry, commerce and market supervision departments from the inner 16 districts (counties), development zone, and tourism zone also joined the meeting and proposed suggestions there.
In January, 2015, the Trademark Office, the Center for Agri-food Quality and Safety, and the Protection and Coordination Department jointly issued Work Plans on Deepening the Implementation of Using Trademark to Enrich Farms and Strengthening Agro-product GI and Trademark Protection, and proposed work objectives, requirements and assignments. This meeting was a conclusion for the joint work conducted by the three departments.
